@lyxus: Ha, trying to fix IE8 is like trying to fix a rock that was supposed to be a car. You don't 'fix' the rock, you build a new car. This "car" is IE9.

@Zinger314: No kidding. When IE first came out, it was the only real browser in the game. And they've STILL stuck to "Internet Explorer." There's 6 syllables in there!
I don't like silverlight. Don't ask me why. Microsoft is completely capable of making excellent products (Windows 7, MSE, etc.) but silverlight is definitely not one of them.
Myeh, I would absolutely love to write for lifehacker, and I have good writing skills (and know alot about tech stuff) but I'm still in highschool.
@orbitbreak: if you're using the HTML5 beta, there should be a little arrow next to the play button that allows you to speed up or slow down the video. Also, if you right-click the video, there won't be a word of "flash" mentioned in there.
@DangerousLiberal: I'm of course not expecting one from Google - they'd be losing huge revenue if they made an adblocker. But I think they're lax enough that they'll let others come up with adblockers, as is happening right now.
@Fiona Conn: You're very welcome. ;-)
@elizawhat: "Have any of these people ever even been depressed?"
@ARP: And not many people have only "mild" cases of depression. There are three options:
@Fiona Conn: Reading your comment makes me wonder if all those scientists quoted in the post above are emo. Lol.
What a joke. They seriously think that depression leads to "mental boosts" & "quality creative output?"
Glad Grooveshark won the first place, it deserved it. Now I just hope the people at Grooveshark improve their service more and don't get bought by Google or Apple. (which is pretty much inevitable...)
@aj_robins: Same here. I find it really annoying that I'm wasting bandswith loading ads that I'm not even looking at. I mean, Adblock does keep me from seeing the ads, but it doesn't keep 'em from loading. Anyone care to shed light on if it's possible?
@Leggie: I can't really do anything to make you like web apps. I personally never find myself accidentally closing a tab on my browser: I use chrome, so I can just pin grooveshark as a tab, and then it stays isolated on the far right side with no close button unless I click it.
I really hope Google doesn't ruin Picnik. It's a great service, and if Google used some of their giant budget to polish things up, they could get a really great web app going there.
Glad to see Grooveshark's in the lead. Spotify is a bit limited, and is stuck in a desktop app: everything's changing: web apps are taking over, and spotify may not last too long. Pandora is bombarded with ads and doesn't allow much freedom in switching songs. [Last.fm] is a little to "big," in that there's way too…
My my, it sure took Google awhile to finally make this move. Hope they do that for the Google webpage itself as well. IE6 is dead and people keep using it...
@jupiterthunder: Thanks!
Another great job by Hexxah! Thanks so much for all your work on this!
@snoop_dizzle: Hmm, good reply. When you get down to the very bottom, while each network has it's own pros and cons, it's really a matter of personal choice. So you can point out the good things about your favorite social network to your friend, but you technically can't tell them truthfully that it's better.
