Instead, everyone is racist and dumb and then not dumb, and addicted to drugs and then not, and then all of a sudden there’s a gay kiss in the hopes someone will tweet about it.

The best one has that unforgettable guitar riff by Duane Eddy:

Director Hlynur Pálmason observes its progress over the course of 13 separate shots that last nearly a full minute, which is a long time to watch a big rock do the gravity dance.

Taron Egerton and Scarlett Johansson are apparently in “various stages of talks” to play Seymour and Audrey.

My complaint/angst/what-the-fuck-ever is not a matter of fucking ignorance.

No one in the general movie going audience will care about the difference. Thor wasn’t that popular until he became funny in Ragnarok. Nobody but diehard FF fans will care whether Reed is an accurate comic portrayal, only if it’s an interesting and compelling character.

It’s about whether them getting acting gigs meant some actor who *didn’t* have market value name recognition from another field missed out.

Neither was Tony Stark or Thor, but it works in the movies.

Really? Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Cher, and Jamie Foxx are pretty good at both. And all of them were/are independent contractors, which is a wide open game out there. And creative expression has no boundaries, you doof.

Didn’t Kanye do something like this with a speeded up Chaka Khan sample 14 years ago with Through the Wire?

I like Emily Blunt for Sue Storm but didn’t she already pass on, like, three MCU roles?

Reed needs to be NOT funny and light hearted.

Maybe someone from the industry can chime in, but I can’t shake the feeling that these pics that fall into the Uncanny Valley do so in many ways because the crew is working on desktop computer screens and never gets to see “dailies” ie footage blown up movie screen size - until it’s too late.

The only person he has to blame here is himself (and his agent).

As for Russell, his last few movies include Joy, American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook, and The Fighter, which have a number of accolades (including Oscar nominations) between them.

And yet this is their third time around together. They must be gluttons for each other’s abuse.

Maybe  both. All I know is, with less than 16 minutes on screen, Hopkins should have been in the Supporting category. He still would have won easily.

Christophe Waltz won two playing German guys.🤣

If only Cate Blanchett would have beat out Gwyneth Paltrow in ‘98, there would have been 2 wins for actresses portraying Queen Elizabeth - in the same year!

Good catch!
