Shame about the Neil Young album. I’ve never been a huge fan but was at Farm Aid this year and he and the band just destroyed the place. I’ll give it a listen but it’ll probably end up in the same mental pile as most of his other work for me.

As someone who works in the charity/corp. philanthropy sector I love it whenever I get to see someone else go through a 990 and get into the nitty gritty of how many charities actually operate. Good read.
They obviously have the right to sue, he signed a deal, etc., etc., but this has real potential to Streisand Effect back on Ford. First of all it shines a bigger light on this “influencer” model which weakens the branding. They want celebs driving their hot cars, and while the celebs are paying for them this displays…
Agreed and as the songs got more MOR and his rhymes started to, well, they started to lack something, it just became more pronounced.
On the old-timey radio comedy front you cannot go wrong with the Jack Benny Program. On for decades and the holiday episodes are often the best.
Someone needs a driver’s lesson, with all these accidents he must be on his fifth Beetle.
12 and whenever Joel is asked he answers something to the effect that it’s down to lawyers so I think it’s a matter of when.
They bought their ticket...
I often prefer the How Did This Get Made? live eps to the studio ones. Since the hosts are comic actors and the guest are usually comedians or the same I feel they really know how to handle it.
“I’ll be the victim!”
All the stars for Addams Family Values reference. My wife is mystified why I like this movie so much and all I can say is “it’s 99% great one-liners and 1% Joan Cusack being awesome”. She doesn’t talk to me much.
Agreed, as much as we want to think GruntGruntFootbawManTough it’s a very different set of things to think about when it comes to being a QB.
Please, don’t let’s start down this road.
I’d also highly recommend the Room on the Broom cartoon. The animation perfectly captures the book’s art, it actually thoughtfully fills in a few motivational points (impressive for something based on a board book), it’s 30 minutes long, and it’s on Netflix (in the US, at least).
Say what you want, the man directed Staying Alive and Rocky IV. This more than qualifies him to helm anything ever.
Creed 2: Living in ‘Murica
He would have made a great Blofeld (and did for the first part of the movie) had Spectre been, you know, good.
I didn’t remember/realize that Smigel was involved but now that you mention it there’s a lot of his kind of comedy in there. Hopefully that Netflix movie will be good, I haven’t checked any of them out yet but may give Wexler a try at some point.
I have nothing to add except that Don’t Mess With the Zohan is a fucking weird movie that people should watch just so they can say “hey, this fucking weird movie actually exists.” I’m not saying it’s funny (it has some moments), but its tone and set-up and universe is bizarre throughout.
Agreed on Jackson and Tarantino. I especially feel Jackson’s role in Django Unchained was underappreciated. He played a pretty complicated role internally so, so well but it was overshadowed by the bigger issues people had with the film, Leo’s heel turn, and Waltz being Waltz. If anyone ever watches that movie again,…
