I have a very strange love for this movie. The book is very different and not bad (I don't think it's as good as the similar The Long Walk by a mile) but King swears he wrote the book in a week and it shows in both good and bad ways. It's very slight, somewhat juvenile, but has a nice pace that works for the concept.

God, sometimes I want to strangle forced NARRATIVE! when it comes to sports. If you can't produce drama from the natural progression of sports you probably shouldn't be in the business of presenting sports. It's just going to burn people over time and ends up decreasing drama and making it more generic.
