Is she not? :) I called her a princess type character based on how she looks, and on info from the MarioWiki page... to be honest I actually haven't played Mario Galaxy yet, so my only exposure has been her appearances in Mario Kart and Mario 3D World, but I liked her in those.

I hate her too! But then, I also hate Peach... Rosalina is the first "Mario Princess" type character that I didn't want to punch in the teeth (and I'm not normally a violent person =) ). The Zelda in Smash doesn't look like Ocarina of Time's Zelda, though. She appears to be the Twilight Princess version, which is a different person in the timeline, and did not disguise herself as Sheik :) At least that's the logic I'm going with to explain what would otherwise be impossible (as you said).
