Been doing this for years with peas and corn. It makes it soooo much easier to scoop up those tiny round veggies off your plate when they just stick to the potatoes. No more using a finger/knife/other food for assistance.
Usually 2-3 mornings on a 6 day out. I bring a ti plate to cook on the coals. Generally spend night 1 around the fire whittling a spatula.
It is a great solution for camping/hiking. Mix all the dry ingredients in a ziplock and toss them in your bag. Just add water and mix when you are ready to cook.
Everclear is the way to go. Works great for alcohol stove fuel, fire starter, disinfectant, cleaner, deodorant, mouthwash and of course with powdered drink mixes to wind down
