NP. NP. NP.

If my daughter takes this route (she’s my car kid) I would be one proud papa.

All I want is one charred wheel to hang on the wall of my garage. It would be a great conversation starter.

A friend of mine let his girlfriend borrow his SUV for the day. Two hours later she was in a horrific crash. She was bumped and bruised but lived. His SUV was totalled. Had she been in her beloved Geo Metro she would have been squished to death in that wreck.

Don’t worry. The car in the story was the exception to the rule.

Waaaaaaay back in the day my dad had one of these as a rental while his car was in the body shop due to some winter-induced trunk crinkling. Even as a wet behind the ears six year old kid I could tell this car was weird/strange/wonky. That being said I admire those behind the concept and execution of the X-11. It is

$600? That’s much is not horrible. Thanks for the good news.

Hopefully your researched estimated of the money to have it done is close to correct. I took the 16 hours given and multiplied that by $100 per hour, plus the cost of parts and threw a little more on top to account for tax.

I live in a land of little ice & snow so the thought of road salt never entered my calculus. You make a good point.

I did not need a additional reason to steer clear of a Northstar but I now have one just in case. Danke.

Trying to get to reliability actuator on just about any English car is darn near impossible.

I understand and appreciate the materials and workmanship that went into this car. But if the starter crapped out the last place I would expect it to be is buried under the intake. To not have it on the underside, near the fly wheel, is perplexing.

I touched a nerve?

My point is changing a starter on any car should not require taking two days off from work to do it yourself or paying $2,300 -$2,500 to have it done.

I had no idea that Toyota, of all manufacturers, would out a starter in such a (litany of bad words, some in French) place. That...that makes me deeply disappointed in them. What could have been the rationale behind this decision?

You make my dreams come true? You want to play one on one? You want Sarah to smile? Tell us!

A low mile Mercury Grand Marquis, add dual exhaust and a turbo kit. BOOM! Done.

This is the way you counter a argument. Flare all the fenders!

Your argument has weight. I need to meditate on this.

That would be awesome. We should consult with Jason Torchinsky to see if they were marketed elsewhere under the VW badge.
