Hopefully your researched estimated of the money to have it done is close to correct. I took the 16 hours given and multiplied that by $100 per hour, plus the cost of parts and threw a little more on top to account for tax.

Trying to get to reliability actuator on just about any English car is darn near impossible.

I understand and appreciate the materials and workmanship that went into this car. But if the starter crapped out the last place I would expect it to be is buried under the intake. To not have it on the underside, near the fly wheel, is perplexing.

My point is changing a starter on any car should not require taking two days off from work to do it yourself or paying $2,300 -$2,500 to have it done.

I had no idea that Toyota, of all manufacturers, would out a starter in such a (litany of bad words, some in French) place. That...that makes me deeply disappointed in them. What could have been the rationale behind this decision?
