I dont know what gaming media you read/watch but just because kotaku's writers hasnt promoted any kickstarter campaigns lately doesnt mean there are a ton out there. Kotaku generally just reports on the "record-breaking" campaigns or the famous-developer or some random game that klicks with the writer.

Im enjoying playing GW2 at the moment but even i recognize that they're mostly stretching existing assets and not really trying to fix the bad. One can only hope they're simultanously working on bigger content patches /expansions along with the living story bite-sized stuff.
