It’s not a shock that Jeter’s showing even less range as an owner than Loria did.

Bake ‘em away, toys, we’re all done here.
Always the name changer truthers!
The original Player to be Named Later.
Yeah, this is where I am as well on this. The PT stuff seems good, the rest of it is dangerous crap, Gronk and Brady like AG and want to keep using him, there’s a rift between the regular training staff and the AG guys.
Both the Jets and Niners made what at the time appeared to be sound football moves.
IIRC his own players on that Greenville team told him he still could play at the MLB level and convinced him to go back. But I agree with you, that story could stand some more digging.
Agreed. He’s just a stand-in for “shitty manager,” but he’s had a pretty good career.
I agree with much of that, and I saw it happen in Boston with the Bobby Fucking Valentine Managerial Syphilis Outbreak in 2012, so I get that, I really do.
Gabe Kaplan just sent a stern note to you via Epstein’s mother.
I’m all for crapping on bad managers, and Kapler certainly seems to be off to a lousy start, but Nick Williams’ complaint is that he knows in advance when he’ll be playing? Is that supposed to be a bad thing? Honest question. Baseball is a game that gave Grady Fucking Little two managerial positions and Dusty Baker…
I guess Jesus Christ CAN hit a curveball.
I regret I have but one star to give you.
Jesus, that’s right near me.....and I am tempted. Greatly.
Why don’t you have it any more?
OK this clarifies things. Ley’s post made it sound like the shift itself was the failure, but from your description it sounds like an error in execution and positioning, not the idea of shifting itself.
Now Kapler is fucking up his team’s defensive alignments. The first mistake came during Tuesday’s game against the Mets, when Kapler aggressively shifted his infield to the right side with a man on first on lefty Jay Bruce at the plate. Bruce yanked the ball right into the shift, but it was fielded by shortstop…
I would think this means Gronk is back. Edelman and Mitchell will be back as well.
I’ll never say never, but having watched this team for 30+ years I cannot imagine they’ll trade 2 1sts for OBJ.
Pats traded the 32nd pick for Cooks last year. They got the 23rd pick for him this year. Leaves them with two firsts this year, which means endless speculation on trading up, trading down, or taking a QB.
