I think that it also changed the rules that the department operates by. It no longer emphasized armed officers as the basic agent, and put more emphasis on other, unarmed agents. Many still law enforcement, to be sure, but also social workers, people with an expertise in mental health, people better equipped to handle…

I’d say Rule #1 is, unless your hack is dead simple (McCrepe) or a staple (Animal Style), don’t try any of this when they are busy.  Go in the off hours between rushes to explore these possibilities.  Especially now, when everyone is understaffed and overworked anyways.

We actually USED to ration it. When our little one was very little, we’d keep close watch and control over how much they ate. But, we also tried not to be stingy about it. They ask for one, let em have two sort of thing (no , those aren’t the actual amounts).

There’s a Famous Dave’s in my town, and I have no idea how it’s still open. Thing is, I live in the Kansas City metro. It has I think more locally owned BBQ places per capita than anywhere, and any that don’t have some sort of appeal going for them usually die after a year or two.
