What sort of things do these guys do that you find to be irresponsible? I ask because people often form a relationship in their minds between the idea of legalizing any given substance, and tolerating the behaviors in which some of its users engage.

I'm sure it affects people differently... but driving is one of my favorite things to do while I'm high. I will say that's it's good to avoid heavy rush hour traffic, as it's easy to get a little overwhelmed when traffic is insanely bad.

To be fair, I don't think he meant to say that marijuana can't or shouldn't be used therapeutically. It's well established that marijuana can help eliminate certain symptoms of medical illness... but we don't know that it can be used to actually eliminate any illnesses.

I think that's probably the best solution. We often get so caught up in scientific findings, and potential risks, that we wind up really overstating the effects of ingesting certain substances. We've created a culture of paranoia and over-compensation.
