Also I can't believe I almost forgot Tom Swift. My mom and uncles had all of the series from the 50's and 60's. They were so fun!

My favorites were the Redwall series by Brian Jaques. Being a smallish nerdy kid it was nice to know that a mouse could be a great warrior!

CarMax has a wonderful reasoning for that. You have to call. That way an expert sales consultant can consult you right into a new car!

Nice covert shout out to The Unit! That show was balls!

I love the new season of House of Cards also. You should start a new feature on how fictional politics impact the car business!

People always come in to my store with the dang KBB price for their trade. "I looked up my 2013 Camby and it should be $23589 according to KBB"

My first car was a unicorn. 30k miles on a 1978 Malibu sedan with factory air and a posi rear end. It was heavy, fast (in my mind) and cool as hell. My dad and I split the cost ($2000!!!) when I turned 18 in 2000. My folks weren't worried about it not having safety features (though my mom worried about the bench

Y'know Doug I'm finding more whack jobs in the comments since you're exposure has grown. I blame the Australian morning show interview!

What I really like about the process with CarMax is that they try to sell you the warranty straight up. No adding it on on the signing office. They're pretty transparent with it. Others though....

Tavarish! I know this is an older post but I hope that Kinja has some kind of notification system. I may have an opportunity to get a 2003 S55 AMG at wholesale pricing and I'm curious if there is a reliability issue with the AMG go fast bits. In your experience do you see the AMG go fast bits failing or should it

Sadly CarMax doesn't do that. You need to buy the warranty (MaxCare) at time of purchase. Part of it is that CarMax can't actually guarantee the history of the vehicle. Buying it after it has been through their reconditioning process is a guarantee for CarMax that they won't have a for lack of a better term a money

Sony apologizing is great and all but are we going to see an article about Xbox Live being down...again

As a blue Polo wearing member of the above mentioned organization it completely drives me nuts when customers ask about the no haggle pricing! I had a guy trying to get me to give him a full tank of gas for free because he wanted to feel like he had been able to haggle.

"I'm Billy the Kid and this here's Socrates. We're from history. "

Its Japanese, who cares where you park it and it's AWD...

Doug! I'm sad to see the Ferrari go but I completely (by having no experience whatsoever with an exotic) your feelings with this post. I'm sure someone has already suggested it but next car....

My God! What the heck?!

They're not even good on US Military bases! It's the US of A and Canada or nothing! Though there are rumors that we're trying to secure a deal for countries south of the border.

That's why you buy used!

According to the salesman, however, you didn't have to jump through that many hoops. I mean, yeah, sure, new customers have to undergo a credit check. And of course, everyone must sign an agreement saying they won't export anything. And OK, fine, there are a few questions. And yes, so he had heard of some dealers
