Things like this just reinforce my stance that *all* software patents are bullshit.

I remember back in the day when you spent money on a thing, you owned that thing, and no court decision or update could strip functions away from that thing you owned. Simpler times.

This is beyond ridiculous for the end consumer. We are losing functionality that we paid for because of some BS dispute between two corporations. Is this move supposed to push us all towards Sonos over Google/Nest devices? Personally, it’s ensured I will never consider any of their products.
