Hell, one of our other large issues is lack of reading comprehension, where you ignore the fact that the guy is trying to be cool, not breaking any real laws or made up HOA laws, and some little tea pot dictator with a complex is upset about it.

Your failings to have that kind of disposable income? Thats where most of these comments are coming from
Nope, wouldn’t care. OK, I would geek out for a bit, and maybe suggest they move it to a driveway, because my street has no shoulder to park on, but I don’t live in an area where we cry about our neighbors doing things that don’t affect us at all.
Go back to your bridge, troll.
Those of old enough to remember gas prices in cents, also remember that when emissions standards were being passed in PA, the key places that they placed the sensors for air pollution were at bus depots... above vehicles that were to be exempt from the fleecing... regulation.
Or, he could leave it out there, which is his legal right, to park a street legal vehicle, and see who comes by to acuse him of their own failings.
I see a lot of petty, jealous and flat out bad people in this thread.
Or,you know, he could have just thought... “Hey, no law saying I cant park this here, and the local kids like it. Not going to bother anyone for a couple weeks...” without thinking of picking a fight.
One of the greatest issues with our nation today is people who look for laws as an excuse to get their 5 minutes of…
When looking at one of the Suzuki wankel bikes, the main issue I read about it was that they went through spark plugs at a fantastic rate. I bet it was exaggerated, some accounts said best changed every gas tank, and with the engine being that thirsty, not a great interval.
As James May mentioned in Cars of the People, the rear wing on these made them slower. If you want the full speed experience, you ditch it.
I have one that could sit useless on my camper when its parked out front, but instead powers things like my truck bed winch, a small inverter for picnics and parties, and my booths at Jeep shows. Its nothing more than a deep cell hard wired with the inverter and an SAE plug for charging and use with normal 12v cigar…
Lots of jeep mods out there that eliminate the airbox (for a cone filter which will perform much more poorly) for a second dual purpose battery (part cranking, part deep cycle) so you can run a winch without the engine, and killing the battery super quick. Some of those winch motors draw serious amps.
Its never the face value of the tickets, its the add on fees and crap that make the money. All it would take is a cop to issue 2 or 3 tickets that evening to pay his OT.
Thank you!
Link us, you tease!
Anyone thought about the real consequences of getting one of these insured to drive in 10 years, if this small crack causes it to possibly be a deathkart (See “notsomethingstructural”’s post). What will corrosion, or possible damage do to it later when its now a 10, 20, or 50 year old car?
Remember that issue with Chevy Volts that got into (testing) wrecks and the battery packs were left plugged in, and then coolant shorted things and made the magic pixies in the cells combust?
Possibly that.
If you follow the facebook page, you would see this is a really slow time of year.
Last really high mileage car (264K at purchase) I owned benefitted greatly from a new timing chain. That was after checking compression and whatnot to be within spec.
The rotors on this are larger than the original Grand Cherokee’s wheels.
Damn.
To accomplish this goal, Jeep strengthened the crap out of its flagship SUV’s drivetrain. The transmission is now an 8HP95 instead of the 8HP70 that’s in the standard 475 horsepower SRT, meaning it can handle 950 newton-meters of torque (700 lb-ft) instead of just 700 (516 lb-ft).
Contrast to a recent Jalopnik front page story about Snell motorcycle standards being great for helmets, but killing people via the brain, and helmet manufacturers relying on bully pulpits to not update their products.
