BG3 is buggy as hell. tons of feats and spells literally do not work. most of the bugs are very easy to just casually assume are working right but theyre not.

yeah jump is definitely not a free action. theres a monk ability, that costs ki points, that for a single turn allows you to jump without consuming your bonus action (and with decent strength you can cover a lot more ground than you could walking this way).
