i love everything about 8 except the main cast. i dont like any of the main 6 playable characters. Irvine is the only one who comes close to having me like him but he’s held back by my dislike of guns. Kiros is probably my favorite character in the game.

i dont know anything about 12s story because I couldnt get past the awful (imo) gameplay. its one of the only FF games ill never play. 15 and 16 might be on this list too.

5 is very good. they have great taste. nice to see X here as well on one of them. And Tactics. Not what my list would look like but I don’t think their choices are bad at all.

14 feels more whimsical. 16 is way too edgy. it comes off like a bad teenagers FF fanfiction idea.

FF1 2 and 3 all played very similarly even if 2 had some different background mechanics battles still worked functionally the same. 4 5 and 5 also did and 7 8 and 9 were basically the same as 4 5 and 6's  (the atb system). so i wouldnt say thats true at all

a bunch of old levels were in mania too. this game is 100% new levels no old ones at all.

i prefered the genesis games because they werent “fast” despite advertising sonic wasnt really about speed, it was about momentum. going fast was a reward for good play, it wasnt the gameplay. i lost more lives due to timeouts than enemies and pits in most of the originals.
