we dont know details but if it does/will it wont have ranked competitive battles. neither will the gen 4 remakes. ranked competitive battles will be exclusive to Sw/Sh

im glad about that. the moment pokemon ditches turn based is the day i drop the series. the whole reason ive stuck with it so long is because less and less series still have turns based rpg mechanics.

youre not missing anything. the article is wrong. battles work like in Final Fantasy 10. its strict turn based.

This is not an action RPG. Battles are still turn based. Theyre using a battle system similar to Final Fantasy X. If youre fast you can get multiple turns in a row. Battles are not “Real-Time” at all.
