It is encouraging to see these types of cars. But these models are on the floor of the Detroit Auto Show. Bring these cars to the floor of my local dealership and I'll be impressed.

I'm well aware of all that, but massive holes in the market such as would have been created by the loss of GM don't just go away, they get absorbed. It would have been uncomfortable for a while, but the market would have sorted it out and been better off for it. A lot of potential cleaning didn't happen.

I never said everyone needs to be completely self reliant. I wouldn't ever plan on living in a bunker and not interacting with anyone or anything.

Who cares if they need it, the question is if the people who are paying are getting anything for it.
