That I'd much prefer if the government would stop wasting money on crap like stadiums, car companies, and Amtrak to give money back to the people who actually earn it. If I want to invest in a railroad, I will.

Do you like terrorist attacks?
No, but when it comes to politics I really can't find it in me to give a shit about issues that don't make or cost me money.
You sure make a hell of a lot of assumptions that the market is perfectly rational.
No, really closer to the opposite. Things that can, or ought to, (like running a railroad, for instance) turn a profit are things the government should stay away from. The government should only really do things that can only be reasonably accomplished by the government, such as maintaining a military or building…
I don't want the government making any decisions on how to spend my tax funds unless they absolutely have to. The problem is that the government has become bundled. I'm willing to pay for interstates, but that also means paying them to fly empty planes around to places I'll never visit.
The failure of GM had a lot to do with GM, I never said it didn't. They let things get out of control on many fronts. I know, I've driven a few of their cars.
Those funds aren't really the government's funds. They're my funds (and yours and many other people's) that the government has taken by force. To some degree that's necessary so we have roads and military, but things like bailing out subpar car manufacturers and building stadiums are completely optional.
You can't because you're picking winners and losers, not unlike the automotive bailout. Such activity is unquestionably not something the government should be doing.
Any state, city or county can say no if they wish. They just shouldn't get pissy when a team or business goes elsewhere. Competition improves the breed you know.
I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of liberals wanting the government to fund certain things. You can't carry on about how the government needs to be more involved in this and subsidize that while blasting publicly funded stadiums.
I'm not defending publicly financed stadiums, I don't fault any county or city that says no.
That's an interesting one way street, considering that liberals have not problems at all with letting a small number of people bankroll all their money-losing ideas while informing anyone with a respectable income how much more of said income they think they're entitled to.
So, basically you think that the government needs to take over private enterprise entirely? And last time I checked, UAW works to help a private group of citizens.
The only way this is not hilarious is if Santa dies.
It is incredibly ironic to continually read complaints about public financing on unabashedly liberal Gawker sites.
My car, my business. End of story.
Buick? Flagship? Is it 1958 or something?
The real problem here is that the owner is discussing injuries.
The article specifically references the "How."
