In nice weather, I doubt they'd look at the ILS once they saw it was active. Glide slope guidance for a visual approach would more likely be PAPI lights allowing the pilots to have their heads above the glare shield.

Pretty much all planes have GPS these days, but that doesn't mean the pilots were looking at it. On approach you fly the plane, and if it was a visual approach, I doubt anyone would glance at the or the ILS.
