So it lost video support and a camera...? The touchscreen doesn't really add anything so it seems like a net loss for the same price (ie, no drop)

I think the end of the article got cut off - last paragraph "In a lot of ways this Shuffle is a hybrid of previous generations, but what's really attractive is the price—it's a"
Extremely static stretches do little before a workout; nothing new here. However if you stretch while moving around a bit then it warms up your muscles and, yes, does help prevent injury. Static stretches really help after a workout, because letting a muscle be after a workout without cooling down can make it stiff,…
I voted FaceTime, but only because of the need for an industry standard video chat. FaceTime is the most likely to take over the market, so the more devices the better. Other than that I couldn't care less about tomorrow. I don't use iPods nor iPads.
@Relyt: /rant....I feel like I just wrote a term paper in under 10 minutes
The reason that iPods (or dedicated MP3 players, for that matter) will remain popular and active for years to come is because kids don't have smartphones, and most have regular phones with limited or no music capabilities at all (or they chose not to use them, since most suck). Giz lives in an ultra-modern tech world…
"consolidated for your convenience"
So I am interesting in downloading this app (Bend, for those of you on Openthread - [lifehacker.com] but the project page on codeplex is broken. Does anyone have a copy of the installer, or know where I can get one?
@blehbleh13: WebOs MP3 player is interesting...the big corps are all slowly losing interest in the dedicated PMP market so if a new big player comes in that would be cool.
These images are horribly photoshopped. The first one has no camera glare/blurriness (is excessively sharp) and the second one consists of a thumb half cut off....
@wyattlillie: Look at the second one, his thumb is cut off
Interesting comparison, always good to see what's up with former Giz editors and writers!
Neat icons in number two - very creative
I don't see this happening because it takes away some of the signature features of the nano, like the clickwheel and video (on a 1.6 inch screen?!?). Plus, that picture is deceiving. On a screen that small the text and pictures could not be both clear and visible. That form factor could be viable for the next shuffle…
This is great and all, but let's see iWork '10 or even '11. It's been a while by Apple standards since the last major update.
Probably usable PMPs like the iPod. You can argue iPhone or others things like that but they would never have been without the explosion of PMPs and the popularity of digital music. They also expanded the use of Bittorrent, good desktop music players, and the bad-ness of the RIAA. Many headline news stories have been…
Last paragraph: "highlight the how desperately we need" I don't think the was meant to be there.
For Apple this seems far more reasonable than a cloud-based service. I can see better MobileMe integration for streaming but that's it.
@wurgerburger: Technically the circle isn't a "line" per se....
