@Vedli: Neither. The boy in the corner beat them to it.

You see this a lot in programming, actually. If you work in C, you're infinitely more likely to do things iteratively than in say, Lisp. Lisp is more likely to railroad your train of thought into recursion over iteration than C is.

So... scientists are trying to create sources of alternative energy by taking the piss?

They can't be that bad if they're striking devils.

Isn't this assuming that the thing you're trying to crack isn't merely shutting you out after a certain number of consecutive failures?

I'll have to echo the huge cry of "Books."

@techynottreky: Hmm. Took me a second to make it out. I don't think it was bad at all, but what can I say?

@techynottreky: Was this... an actual disemvoweling? I don't remember if they actually say that it's been done.

@Channan: Maybe the driver slowed down because of small children in the road. :3

@Bruce Irvin: An environment also includes the species and others around it. One must still adapt to oneself. I don't see how that -isn't- evolution.

@Bruce Irvin: Looking that up brought me to a strange abstract, but from the name, I'm guessing that it's talking about aggression of a male towards threatening males?

@coirbidh: If I understand what you're saying correctly, I agree, which is why I was putting "loyal" in quotation marks.

@coirbidh: I should probably be a little more specific. One-way monogamy seems to be what emerges: where the female is "loyal" to the male. Females can tell their offspring by the obvious route. Males in species which hold an interest in their specific offspring can only really tell by having partners for them.

My own pet theory was that societies that practiced monogamy were less likely to get roflstomped by STDs. Also, that people who had a means of knowing who their kids were were also more capable of protecting their genetic perpetuation.

Are you sure "mature workers" doesn't mean breakroom hookers?

@GMM: Or should we say: ZOMBAMA?!

GRAH. NERD RAGE. Stupid manual in US edition was like, two pieces of plastic-y toilet paper stapled together. :<
