So the town took a philosophical question personally, buried its guilt deep beneath a giant mound of self-righteous indignation, then clutched its pearls and claimed that the real problem is people asking this question.

You’re not wrong, which is why “no-kill” shelters aren’t a viable option. However, “no-adopt” shelters (which *only* kill pets, without attempting to find them homes) should *also* not be a viable option...and yet that’s exactly what PeTA runs.

A lot of people would love to adopt pets from a shelter. But PETA’s “shelters” have no visiting hours, they show zero pets, and often they kill animals as soon as they come in the door, rather than the mandated waiting period.

You obviously haven’t looked into PETA’s “rescue” records.

They also kidnap pets from people’s yards and the like and immediately kill them, then lie and say they thought the pets were strays. Their motto is that pets are better off dead than as pets. They kill most of the animals they take in, with no attempt to find them homes. They are nuts.
