Just the carving part.

Sherman didn't go far enough. Every one of those Confederate Generals should have been imprisoned for life for taking up arms against the lawful government.

If it were up to me, I'd grind to dust and melt down every fucking memorial to Confedeate Generals, especially those at Gettysburg and other old Nothern battlefields. Then I'd dynamite that carving on Stone Mountain. Just to get started.

West Virginia? Try Pennsylvania. There's a chucklehead who has a Confederate Flag vanity plate on his front bumper that I often see driving around town here outside of Philadelphia. Then there is the US Marine vet who parks in the local Home Depot lot with an actual Confederate flag drapes over his pickup's tailgate.

Was it ever attractive?

If I was that child, I seriously doubt I would have answered that question.
