Obviously I should feel shitty. I was just wondering how much.

Out of curiosity, is Canada usually good about these sorts of things? Or are people surprised that he was actually arrested? I just want to know exactly how shitty I should feel about being an American right now.
Not that it matters, but I'm pretty sure the procedure happened this morning, not last night.
But they also have a weird, metallic menorah! So it's ok (because there are only two religions, obviously).
Oooh Guthro, "Marry me!!" is not a question. You blew it.
In my opinion, even after the fetus is viable (not an exact scientific term) it should not be considered a person. That's the thinking that led to all those forced C-sections and Carhart and lot's of other horrible stuff. Viability is not a useful or progressive frame for this issue.
Yeah, see, why is everything so complicated?! Can't I just throw a party and wear a dress and invite whomever I want? No, no I cannot.
Yeah I'm not saying this article didn't have some good ideas/addressed an actual issue people may have. Just the whole "my day is so special not being invited to it would be the worst thing in the world" joke took me a while, because people actually think like this.
The wedding industrial complex is so bat shit crazy in this country that it took me an embarrassing 3/4 of the article to realize that it's a joke. I thought she was being serious. People seriously think like this. People are seriously the worst.
"The Godly men who founded this Republic objected to Redcoats tromping through their domiciles with muddy boots, and so codified the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure in the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution. Not in their worst wig-spinning nightmares could they have imagined that amendment…
I think a good rule of thumb is: don't bring a baby to a place an 16-year-old is not allowed to be. 16 year olds are not allowed to be at bars because they're under age. The fact that your baby isn't trying to get a drink changes nothing.
Your point about restaurants that also have bars is well-taken, BUT it's equally annoying or even more annoying when people bring their kid to the BAR portion of the restaurant. I was eating at a sort of up-scale, cocktails place that was a restaurant with a bar. A woman, who clearly had been working late, came in…
for some reason, this royally pisses me off. This grieving mother needs to STFU. It's like she's defending her daughter against slut-shaming and victim blaming that never happened, thereby engaging in slut-shaming herself, by implication. No one cares if her daughter had sex with the person who murdered her, right?…
You have to go.... Into the Words.
I raised to believe in only two things: Stephen Sondheim and Meryl Streep. And yet, I am dreading this movie and particularly her role in it. I spent my childhood in love with Bernadette Peters, but even if I hadn't I would dread the impending over-acting with which my favorite actress will kill my favorite musical.
God I hope they include some color kids of color in this reboot...
I still haven't gotten around to watching Scandal, but OH MY GOD IT'S SEAN FROM SCRUBS! And he got even prettier!
Yes, but a) marriage has nothing to do with it and b) Actual biblical sex is pretty damn kinky and involves mistresses and lot's of stuff that will absolutely get you an STI. So... his science is right but his religion is wrong, surprisingly.
well, it's not about "substantial burden" in terms of time and effort. It's substantial burden on their religion, so even a one-line form that read "put an x here to opt out" would be a substantial burden, they would argue. This article kinda missed the point.
I know this would never happen in a million years, but this is a good opportunity for them to be like "even if that were true... what's your point? You want to demonize women who have abortions instead of opting for adoption, then you want to demonize parents who adopt? And trans people?" Like, with the Barry Obama…
