You know what was also a new technology going through growing pains? 3D. And Google Glass. And before that? HD-DVD, DivX, Laserdiscs, Zip drives, the Virtual Boy, dot-com investments, and so on.

Truth is, most new technologies going through growing pains never catch on. VR could work in some settings, namely on museums

I wonder how developers - you know, those who actually MAKE the games, as opposed to just profiting from them - will react to this. Because let’s be honest, GameStop by doing this is just creating a private game-swap club where people can play anything they want (as long as it’s on stock I guess) without paying the

This is horrific to me. Bad idea in every way.

Playing the pirated game (1) recognizes there is some value to the game, otherwise it wouldn’t be played, but (2) refuses to demonstrate that value monetarily, or to negotiate the game’s value with the developer’s or publisher’s consent. One can not buy and not obtain the game; not buying and obtaining the game

I’ve worked at a company like that, and the thing is, a lot of the time upper management doesn’t get why we’re not so ingrossed in the company as they are. My old boss just could not understand why I didn’t feel the need to work at home every night, for one thing.

I think with the games industry it’s not so much the demand to work this hard, but the demand to work this hard for absolutely no extra compensation whatsoever.

“They show them capable of callous murder...

I feel like that might’ve been the point.

Story is not as good as the visuals and mood; just like the original! Although I like the story more this time around; it brings up many interesting questions, even if it doesn’t have answers. Scratch that, especially since it doesn’t have answers.

Because after 9/11 this country went all-in on fellating anyone wearing a uniform. This is the end result-sporting events become weird nationalistic rallies and any criticism of police or the military is verboten.

Why do they do it? Because some faiths teach that its the followers job to go and spread the word of God to bring others to the light. To most people the means either going door to door or out in public and since all they know is what has been preached at them they themselves will start preaching from the bible.

Don’t look at your phone and drive people. It’s only harmless in video games.

In the same vein as your Van Halen suggestion... Queen’s “Jazz” sounds Amazing on Vinyl. I picked up a used Original Pressing on RSD a few years ago... just because I like Queen... and after listening to all my RSD exclusive stuff I popped it on.. and was completely blown away.

there are still some good vinyl things happening! watch the throne special edition is really cool. the resurgence of vinyl last few years has led more artists to do specialty colored vinyl, 180 gram, etc.

Yes, this is definitely a disappointment, but hopefully it will just drive the point home that Kickstarter is NOT a place to pre-order or “invest” in games. It’s there to help fund pipe dreams. That dream could be the greatest thing since sliced bread or it could all go up in smoke like Unsung Story did. I’ve backed

This is what desperation looks like. GS is going the way of Blockbuster.

BUT there still is at least one advantage: You can’t have a mix as loud on Vinyl as it would be on CD. So there is a slim chance, the Vinyl-Mix will have more dynamics compared to the CD-Mix.

Oh man I love geeking out about music. Hold on, I’ve got a lot of thoughts and hopefully I don’t mess up this Kinja comment!

1080p and 4k has the technical limitation of size of the tv you want to buy and the distance at which you look at it. If you play at 9 feet from your TV, you actually can’t see the difference unless you have a 30/20 vision. Yes, most people who play games will be at around 5-6 feet away (personnaly I play at 3feet
