Because Toyota can’t figure out how to mod a BMW to fit a manual in.

3500lbs for the mustang versus 3400 for the supra. So “significant” a weight bump there *eyeroll gif*
Too much work getting a Toyota engine into a 95% BMW. Can you imagine the transmission mating nightmare?
The Lotus to see how far the Miata ideals can be pushed to the limits of lightweight fun. Also with no track nearby its likely the only one you can get near the limits and not end up around a tree.
If you want something that is gonna give you a grin every time you tap the gas go for the Vyper or GT350. The 350 is…
Sports car. Not a drag machine.
Is it just me or can only one person get out at a time?
GM said they were dumping the blackwing. Because the “market doesn’t want it” according to them. More likely they don’t want the cost of retooling a supply line to make a new motor for a change.
Lord the XLR was and is a hot pile of “creative decisions” to put nicely. Focus groups definitely made that car. Its like they gave them a list of 3-4 options and they chose 1-2 of them. Then they just kinda shove components on a platform and made it sorta work.
that “rare” comes from the fact that not many made it into the USA as a fastback.
The “boat race” they had 2 years ago at the USGP was pretty damn great.
The mop buckets as the carts and mops as oars were fun as well. I can’t remember the race but it was red flagged for a LONG time and the crews did that to have some fun.
A flagship does exist. Sadly its the Escalade. There however isn’t a big “eff off poors” sedan they make anywhere near as nice as the Germans or the Japanese. Hell the Koreans are getting there faster then Cadillac.
Audi pulled the supercharged v6 in 2019 with the A6 being the last holdout.
As for why a turbocharger. I’m gonna guess market acceptance for one. Efficiency for two and the ability to package the turbo more flexibly around the engine bay over a supercharger traditionally sitting in the v of the engine.
I feel a lot of…
At the cost of refinement, efficiency, and smoother operation. Like taking a railroad spike knife to a switchblade fight. It “gets the job done” but not at the price point that GM demanded for it and not at the refinement point the price point demanded and shoppers in that range demanded.
The EV-1 was amazing for its time. They had a great platform and some advance leaps. However it was at a time when gas was CHEAP. They also shorted supply to claim it didn’t sell well. They then shelved or burned the design books. When gas spiked and the large truck market fell, they instead got a bailout when they…
The color mismatch can and is corrected by more higher end companies because they use smaller, more appropriate batch sizes. They also paint the bumpers and plastic trim in the same facility in the same day. This controls shades really well. If my green challenger/charger was that bad, you bet your ass it would be…
Gotta love how they shove their actual innovation on vehicles nobody wants or on vehicles not many can afford then call the tech a flop and shill more of the high profit crap.
The humidity here in Louisiana KILLS 70's-2000's headliners till they swapped to the better glue process from factories. Sadly the same for the door trims and interior pieces glued in. GM uses the same adhesive for it all (see cheaper). Go figure.
As for the motor it has the early v6. Think was a pile.
Just the tires. The rims can be CF.
The paint mismatch comes from them cheapening up the production process by mixing paint batches too large. The color pigments settle awkwardly and colors run. The bumpers and other plastic trim is painted separately in another factory. Some companies use a photo system and a color matching robot to match “close…
Learned it from space camp. Yay for being “that kid” growing up.
