I bet I can predict what will happen from the shit direction the show is going: Sansa can’t take the sexual abuse any more, so she lights the candle in the tower, Podrick and Brianne see it and come running to the rescue. The viewers think, Hurray they’ve come to save the day, only to be captured. Totally surrounded

I’ll watch to the end of the season, then I’ll bail. 23 episodes left until concluding the entire series. They better start picking up the pace if they don’t want rabid nerds tearing down their nice office. I don’t think tv geeks will be able to handle another Lost if GoT tanks the same way

I really don’t care about the books, I’m just looking at the writing from a tv show perspective. There comes times when what works in a book doesn’t work in a 60 minute tv show. Her character arc to avoid being abused by Joffrey only to be abused by another cruel dipshit is just pointless. It looks as though her story

I agree with you, GoT has been progressively getting worse and worse. They have too many characters and plotlines on screen to allow for character building and handling heavy issues like rape effectively. When each character gets 5 min of screentime per episode it becomes a disjointed acting demo reel.

Sigh.

Man that was close. My army of rabid Peaks fans were preparing vats of boiling black coffee and true cut 2 x 4 Pine battering rams. Now I can tell the horde to throttle down.

Whew!

Star wars changes were a shameless money grab and an excuse to get them back into theaters again. I call foul on your example

In a fucked up bizarro world where the creator of Buffy is being accused of being sexist. And the fact he said in interviews that Marvel made him cut an hour out. I call that incomplete.

I think the main difference is for the first avengers there wasn’t much baggage to carry around so he could make 100% what he wanted. From all the interview clips and snippets it sounds like Marvel was far more hands on this time around, demanding cuts, deaths, plot line changes, etc. I am not defending him outright,

Just wanted to comment on the female merchandising angle. I keep seeing over and over on io9 lamenting this issue, so I wanted to give some color on this problem from what I’ve seen first hand.

I once had the opportunity to hear a high level ceo of one of the big 5 media companies (that will remain nameless) speak at a

I’m not saying it wasn’t enough time to change the way things were presented, but an hour of extra footage is ton and can radically change even small scenes. If you’ve ever seen the LOTR extended editions you can see the difference even 30 mins of extra footage can make and how much more fleshing out of characters it

You’re right heaven forbid one makes kneejerk reactions to a commercial product that Wheedon was on record having said was forcibly cut. Have fun trolling!

You are talking about a potentially incomplete product. Enjoy ranting and raving in the meantime.

That’s just rumor never been confirmed.

There are 30 mins of footage being put back into the bluray release and another 30 mins of deleted scenes. I will wait till after I see that footage before jumping the gun. Supposedly most of the cut footage is character development and plot scenes. Hopefully it gives black widow more back story time

Holy shit this is terrible looking. What has happened to all the WB promo photographers?! Remember when things were presented in a professional well staged photo shoot??

So io9 posted a story poo-pooing this possible breakthrough story a while ago, now they are saying its looking promising?? Which is it io9, be skeptical here or is this thing looking legit? Maybe get some scientists to weigh in to clear this up.

If this thing is gaining credibility then I hope it becomes a permanently

Sadly that gum I like isn't coming back in style:(

I can't believe Showtime jumped the gun without locking in Lynch first. Its not like they didn't know his reputation for being eccentric and difficult. I'm guessing the Showtime negotiator went in blind, probably it all went down something like this:
