If I were in the situation and didn't want the spiders to live, I'd capture the mother spider in a jar, put the lid on and leave it for a while, maybe in the sunlight too. If i'm feeling especially cruel, I'd release the spider into someone's living area.

My heart kinda panged when I read the Chuck spoiler. It'll be sad to see the show finally end, even though they've been bracing for it almost every time.
