They do say they went into exclusion areas. There are areas that were directly in the path of the radioactive fallout or debris, my guess is those are the areas they went into.

The technology seems to have a few problem areas. There are a few spots where the windows have areas that stick out. You can see this near the end where the camera goes from moving along the window and makes are sharp turn towards the back wall. Right before it turns, you can see part of the window sticking out.
