I completely agree, KC earned the title and if they had lost game 5 would have probably won game 6 or 7. Not to mention, the Mets still had the bottom of the 9th to get 1 run, that’s all they needed to win it. Or they could have gotten 1 run before the 12th.

Doing the math, it’s somewhere between 12-15% for getting a hit based on the previous numbers. (4 or 5 hits through 31 or 32 batters). Closers typically allow less hits than starters, and considering the possibility of a bad throw due to the pressure, the percentages were probably pretty close.

Could’ve been a scout report thing. And, that’s not a guaranteed play. Regardless of which hand the first baseman uses, he has to turn or throw from an awkward position. Put a little pressure on anyone, and they’ll throw from an awkward position to save time, leading to errors.

Harvey was pitching out of his mind in the 8th. By the 9th everything else took over, he was erratic with pitches literally all over the place.

They could have possibly lived to fight another day. A 3-2 series is a completely different story.

I agree with the comments made on Fox, once Harvey walked the lead off hitter he should have been pulled. He was throwing pretty erratically, my guess is nerves had started getting the best of him.
