My motto is "with lipgloss, anything is possible," so that tells you something. I like wearing makeup for me... and I'm vain enough to do so because I think I look better/more refreshed/more pulled together and professional when I do. I can't get away without it, now that I'm older — I just look too drab, especially

Yay for TM! Glad to hear it. It's deceptively simple, yet so powerful and life changing.

Thanks for sharing! Antony is another one-of-a-kind talent, like Sinead. He's on my bucket list to see.

This bullshit by Miley making fun of my Sinead (and Amanda Bynes, but I care less about/for her) makes my blood boil. So mean-girl. I could see how she, or someone else young, might think Sinead's being preachy or nosy... but to mock her illness, and to totally not really understand the significance of that SNL

Yay! Thanks for this hit of Depeche Mode! My morning just got better. They are always in order, and have generally done everything they do better than anyone else.

This is good news! They are hilarious. I was introduced to them by Dan Savage, of all people. Also didn't realize that Kate is Lucy from The Big Bang Theory.

Yes, and their mom was a longtime and well-known New York Magazine editor, Corky Pollan — successful genes, much? All good at what they do.

He's wearing a puffy shirt! (It's my theory that everything in the world can be tied in some way to a Seinfeld episode).

That last dress is actually wearable. I will definitely check it out. My booty isn't that big, but I am somewhat curvy and athletic, so it could work... I don't think I'm too old for it!

OK that cat punching gif is giving me LIFE.

Toilet paper roll cover. Albeit a very expensive one. That's the image I can't get out of my head. The kind that sit on the back of your grandmother's toilet tank.

Yessssss! I'm late to this thread and the whole Blurred Lines kerfuffle, but you express my feelings as well.

Thanks for sharing your personal story. People can change, some do, some don't.

You're right, compassion is rare. There are so many people suffering, silently. As I work in a food-related field, and with so much abundance around us, the thought of people going hungry especially gets to me.

Ok, my heart just lurched a little for you. The thought of not having enough to eat at a young age... and then being bullied for being overweight (spoken as someone who was bullied herself). Sending you psychic hugs.

I like Katy Perry even better now that I know she's a meditator. Guess that was a good takeaway from her marriage to Russell Brand.

I really enjoyed The Silent Wife. It's being marketed as "...if you liked Gone Girl..." but it's different, so take it on its own merits. For me, its descriptions of the pettiness within a relationship, the ambivalence and the love/hate struck eerily close to home. It felt very "real" — not that I'd ever actually go

yes — but that was the satire of it. I think the author's poking fun at that whole lifestyle, over the top but not really.

Exactly my first thought as well!

I am in girl-love.
