thank you this is genius, I'm so trying this! Much better than my usual sloppy pony tail tucked into itself to get it off my neck.

Oh yes, I had both Chrissy and Dawn. I thought I was very progressive back then as I had an affinity for the black Dawn doll (whose name I don't remember).

The sad state of my life: I clicked on this again to see who might have recommended my little post (thanks! I'll take all the tiny recognition I can get!) and saw the pic and again began laughing uncontrollably. I want to stare at it all day.

This pic has made my LIFE. I wasn't even tuned into the troll factor and it took me a minute to realize who the Grays are

Wow, you've never had sex without a condom... I guess that's a good thing, you are being safe. I started my sex life pre-AIDs era and always used other birth control, so they were more of a rarity for me. Now given everything that's floating around, I'm back to it, or need to be more consistently. As a guy above

OK this is the best cat pic EVER.

"I think I just hate that when a celebrity dies, they have to be either elevated or denigrated, and nobody wants to say, "He was just a person, with flaws and charms and the ability to be both wonderful and terrible. He was one of us, nothing more, nothing less."

This whole thing is giving me hives and making me worried for humanity. Although it's pretty freaking hilarious.

I'm sick over this. What's weird is that I've been thinking about The Sopranos a lot lately, was just talking to a client about how it's not good to watch them before bed (too violent and scary, bad for restful sleep). And literally a few minutes before I heard the news I read a thing on Slate about a "Gateway

I actually feel like I get better treatment at my mechanic's because I'm a woman. I'm fortunate to have found someone who is a bit of a softy and I know "looks out" for single women (I'm not single, really, but am the main car-dealing person in the house). My partner is all paranoid about dealing with mechanics and

My local NPR station still airs the show every week, so I get my dose! I'm waiting for the time when the cars people call in about are really, really old because they've been off the air for so long.

I may be in the tiny minority here, but I'm kinda liking Kanye these days. I thought that the article from last week about his "batshit crazy" (I think Jez called it) NYT interview was really pretty interesting. Yes, some of it was off the wall, but I do think that some of the quotes Jez pulled from it were taken out

One of my few brushes with celebrity was that years ago I was at the same vacation spot for a week w/John Cameron Mitchell. This was right after he finished Hedwig, and was chilling out. Very nice, smart, quiet, low-key. So great to see how successful he became!

Yay team TM! It will change his/her life.

God I can't wait to read this. I scanned it and saw the phrase "...the use of symbolism in Holsten's". That's where I go on the regular for ice cream and chocolates. Never the onion rings. I've sat in that booth many times, the place was a landmark before the show.

I just saw a few yesterday while gardening. Or maybe it was just a carcass/shell thing, as they didn't really move.

Oh please reconsider our Garden State! I live here (not a native, but it's been a long, long time) and things are not that black and white. It's actually quite lovely and progressive in some spots!

Newsflash — this is what 48 y/o men look like, IF THEY'RE LUCKY. He is still pretty trim and has his hair, so he's way ahead of most mortals in his cohort.

I am reading this while having only recently gotten dressed in my workout clothes (yoga pants, tank, ls shirt). I work from home and am not seeing anyone today. I will put on earrings and lip gloss when I go to the gym, as part of an effort to look casually put together.

This gif gave me the laugh I was looking for all day! This cat looks like one of the jacked copywriters on last night's Mad Men!
