OK, I just saw this and got all teary-eyed. I've always liked Ellen and been a little attracted to her — I am straight but if I were to switch teams, her style of pretty androgyny would be catnip to me. I mean, it kind of is now!

Are you seeking to yank the collective Jezebel chain w/this comment? Because that's what this feels like.

OK, I LOL'd here. Mainly because I live in the garden state (and much of it deserves that moniker). But I never say I am FROM NJ... can't quite get there, even after close to 2 decades of residency. Someone once tried to bond with me as a "Jersey girl" and I almost choked.

I never used to shave/wax, for years. aside from the occasional bikini cleanup. I remember once about 20 years ago my bf at the time and I did shave each other, and it was kind of kinky/transgressive for the times.

I'm tickled to be hearted by you, and glad you could identify! Yay.

Regarding Nicole/Keith/Sunday — wow, what a gorgeous family. Even if they weren't famous I'd likely be agog staring at them if I saw them on the street.

Yes, this. I lower the house thermostat at night and a very inexpensive space heater keeps the bedroom warm at night. Works out cheaper that way. I do the same thing w/a wall air conditioner for cooling in the summer

I usually go to the "hide" feature, because some people are so negative/whiny. And way too promotional — lot of my friends have small businesses, and they can be really insufferable.

I am involved with a semi-pro MMA fighter and he is an irresistible combination of brute strength, incredible grace and agility, potential violence, and tender sweetness. Very sensitive and quite intuitive — by his own admission an angel and a devil. As someone else said, it's quite an intimate sport, so elemental.

I've had a detached retina (not from MMA fighting, though). Can happen from a sharp blow, or extreme dryness of tissues, and very nearsighted people are especially vulnerable. Weirdly it doesn't hurt at all, but your sight gets compromised, from fuzziness to like a dark curtain coming down over your vision. It's

I love Sinead O'Connor more than anything. She is truly one of a kind. Amazing chutzpah (sp?). She looks so happy and better than she has in ages.

While Dolly is now and forever, I also love my pretend boyfriend Jack White's version of Jolene. (double good that this version features a George Harrison namecheck).

ABSOLUTELY. Got a immediate 70s-era David Bowie vibe from her. Which is a good thing, in my book.

I like your husband too, and I like hearing that you are happy with someone so much younger!

Hearted for the Friends reference! That's one of my favorite TV lines of all time.

I'm taking this kind of hard. I found myself invested in them working. I think Ashton is totally adorable, and I've kind of grown up and older w/Demi, who's close to my age (and I'm totally impressed that Wikipedia is up to the minute on the breakup — just checked her DOB).

AWE.SOME. The perfect intersection of my love for music + kittehs. I will never leave it.

Never thought about the ziplocs in the washing machine. Don't know of a cooler temp in my dishwasher, something to look into.

awesome tip, I'm totally trying this. I eat a lot of celery.

I don't believe it's a good idea to wash the Ziplocs in the dishwasher. I think the heat is too hot for that kind of plastic and it leaches in an unhealthy way. Definitely hand-wash and dry.
