I sorta feel like this is the laziest article I have ever seen written for Jalopnik. There has to be SOME reason you are bringing this up that you didnt mention...

“and tossed the driver out of the SUV and onto the roadway.”

Huh. These look like a bunch of dumb fun, but since I’m an owner/operator of a healthy, full-size adult male penis, I’ll never be able to drive one of these Compensators comfortably.

“benchpress 350 pounds and eat sharp rusty nails for breakfast”

I’ll take an AEV Prospector XL any day over one of these.

It’s overkill on a grotesque compensatory scale yet I want it...

Bro....you didn’t know that Trooper cars really have NASCAR racing engines in them? I’m pretty sure I read that on the internet somewhere. :D

The biggest red flag here is that Troopers have very little to no vehicles that are capable of doing 180 mph.

What I don’t get is how little physical effect this wreck had on the car in the right lane. The car didn’t seem to get slammed forward at all, nor was there any severe damage visible. Also being a hatchback I don’t get how the Audi ramped over it instead of just crashing.
This entire wreck is very strange.

Fuck NASCAR for that decision. Had he won the race, maybe, possibly, it could be justified. However he got fined for an ever so slightly our of spec engine in practice, practice!

The Audi driver wont have very many money by the time thats settled.

How nice of that Ford Edge to move forward and finish off the injured parties.

I kind of love this approach though... Like it’s just that perfect balance of being bitchy but not being an asshole.

“See, that’s why I don’t wear a seatbelt.”

Unfortunately, immediately after the video cuts off, he was killed by the Mustang.

“No recent retirement announcement has stung racing fans quite as much as Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s did today.”

It’s been crazy to get old along right alongside all these athletes. Brett Favre, Kobe Bryant, Peyton Manning, Dale Jr...way to make me feel old and unaccomplished, guys! I really like the way Dale built his own reputation and started stepping out from under the typical “corporate” line to show his own personality.

Junior gets lifetime membership on my “I want to buy this man a beer” list.

I have really been impressed with him off the track over the last few years. He has come out of his shell and seems to be more comfortable with himself. I hope he gets out and does some things that are fun for him. Maybe he can do some racing (Le Mans? Indy?) and get to see the world if he cares to. I’d totally
