First MY (model year) for the C63 with the 6.2L M156 engine (w204 body) for the US was 2008. The M157 engine continued until MY 2014 and in MY 2015, it had the 4.oL TT M158 engine (w205 body).

My first car was a ‘99 SVT Contour, and it was awesome! The shift forks had a tendency to warp/break, which caused lots of gear grinding, but that was resolved in the 2000 MY. It’s such a sweet daily driver.

Spend a little more and get a 2012+, which will have the head bolt issue which plagued the ‘02-’11ish models, sorted out from factory.

Maintenance on the C63 is actually not that bad.
Oil changes can be very easily done at home with a fluid extractor - you’ll spend roughly $90 in materials (oil & filter, if using GOOD oil - i.e. Motul or LiquiMoly).
