I’d go for Football and Basketball. Remember, in the early 2000s the basketball coach was involved in covering-up the murder of one of his players. The NCAA responded with 2 years probation and a 2 year ban on postseason play.

Starred, but I’m going to disagree with one thing you said:

But then you have to watch 30 minutes behind and you can’t talk shit to friends on Twitter while watching.

Same here. Was a big fan throughout the 90s up to about 2005. Then my wife and I had a kid, and another kid, and my ability to spend 3.5 hours watching baseball multiple times a week took a big hit.

Don’t forget the 2 hour run time of a game. So nice to get in a game in a reasonable amount of time.

The problem with current proposed entitlement cuts is that, assuming you don’t like debt, they’re driven by ill-advised tax-cuts that no elected official can propose rolling back. That, and the fact that by almost any metric our defense spending is obscene.

Two things:

The fact that the Trump campaign is using Schilling as a surrogate on Fox Business says tons about the thinness of their bench as conservatives/republicans with a future in politics bail on the campaign.

That would be such an awesome move. I really like the idea of the Cleveland Blues. There’s historical precedent as they were a National League tea from 1878-1884. It puts is in opposition to the Cincinnati Reds and allows for the rebranding of the Ohio Cup as the Red/Blue series. Blue hats with a block C still work,

Agree. I was talking with my 12 year old son, who’s a big Man U fan, about the way Rashford handled his loss of playing time. Kept his mouth shut, trained hard, and scored when given the chance. Mou may keep referring to him as “the kid” in press conferences, but he’s going to be hard pressed to keep him out of the

Side-stepping the “it was a clean hit” vs. “he was targeting” stuff going on in this thread, the occurrence of multiple hits like this every game are what is killing / will kill football. Regardless of whether it’s “allowed,” it happens, and when it happens it does bad things to the brains of the players involved.

What, exactly does Guardiola have to lose in this exchange. The team is clicking on all cylinders right now and all City fans knew Toure’s days were numbered as he does’t have a body type / playing style that ages well. Seluk didn’t do Toure any favors with this follow-up statement:

Because it would be the equivalent of staring into a strobe light?

Alternately, if you voted for Nader in 2000 thereby helping give W the presidency, you’re responsible for the Iraq war. And pleasant dreams to you too “entirely too proud of the fact that I’m voting for a third party candidate” voter.

They’re not being stifled, though. Bee is pointing out the consequences of splitting votes opposed to far right policies among multiple parties. The relevant example is Brexit - where a bunch of people who knew better voted for exit because “the system is corrupt and must be burned down.” And then the damn thing

WRT Coursepacks: They were cost-effective until around 1990 when a court case mandated that copy shops track down the copyright holders and give them a cut. I remember b/c my school went from every class using a course packet to no one using a course packet b/w sophomore and junior years.

My kid puked on me when he was 2. Cleaned everything. Took the joint shower. Wife asks me to hold the kid for a second before I tap out for a deserved break and he puked on me a second time.

I read the original in the NYT on Friday and all I could think was, “What a dumbass.” The title of the piece, “The Only Piano I Could Afford” promised such good things, too. Unsurprisingly, the degree for which he moved to Mississippi was an MFA in creative writing.
