San Juan. It has an interesting mechanic where cards are used as currency, laid down to function as buildings, and as the items produced by buildings. There’s a space themed version called Race for the Galaxy.

What could go wrong?

Similar case of a found car about 10 years ago outside of Houston. Woman’s husband disappeared in 1997. Because there was no body and no car, law enforcement assumed he abandoned his family. Insurance wouldn’t pay life insurance, either. In 2004 a diver retrieving another wrecked vehicle found her husband and his car

If people using a horrible tragedy to score points in snotty Kinja posts are any indication, I’d say yes.

As dkfree2 mentions, there are already some parents in youth soccer who have banned their kids from heading. Was actually at the pediatrician’s yesterday and she said that she just bans her kids from heading on goal kicks due to the amount of force involved and the fact that its not a scoring opportunity.

People who gamble - how soon after a final score is posted are you able to collect your bet if you’re using an offshore gambling site? Feels like they can’t correct the score because all that gambling money has already been distributed.

Good point. Doctor . . . . . .

While I agree. It is true that kids that close to the action are there because their parents are loaded. I never sat on the lower level for any sports event growing up. Guy who snatched the puck is still a tool, though.

Dropped in on the cemetery in Bastrop, TX a couple of years ago. Awed by all the old tombstones reading, “Born in Bavaria,” or “B0rn in Saxony,” only to have died in Bastrop, TX. So far from home.

I think it’s a problem for ESPN if they lose Lowe. Ehh, maybe not given the direction ESPN is going.

The linkage of the Air Force and prejudice against non-christians is part of a larger, ongoing pattern. There have been numerous stories over the past 10 years of religious intolerance at the Air Force Academy & this past year an Air Force general went on a religious t.v. network in full uniform to testify/witness

Bought this exact safety razor a little over a year ago. Well built with nice heft. I’m not some razor geek, just a guy who got tired of shelling out major dollars for sensor cartridges. I use it with Derby Double Edge Blades (100 count for 8 dollars) and Poraso Shaving soap. I have a generic brush and I use a gerber

The guy quoted in the article making the “we lost, why should they get paid” argument was the worst considering the way Fiorina was compensated for running HP into the ground.

Love, love the axe gang’s dance number to open the movie. Sinister and cool. Love the rest of the movie as well and end up watching it at least once a year. Fighting the urge now to fire it up this afternoon (I have stuff to do).

In case you haven’t seen it, Lauren Weinstein’s comic on being pregnant as a Cystic Fibrosis Carrier (her husband is a carrier) was recently nominated for a Small Press Expo (SPX) Ignatz Award for best online comic. Good read that might be of interest to those who know someone with CF:

Ides of Smarch.

“My Discourse is Often Obtuse” is my new slogan. Seriously, this is a t-shirt that would sell by the truckload to humanities academics :)

Too young to drive (born in 1970), but not to young to create my own fantasy vans (Vantasies?) with Little Van Goes. Mix and match a front-end, middle, and rear to make an endless array of custom vans.

A million times this. Drives me crazy. So for the past 40 years we’ve been trying to get girls to change how they participate in classes in order to produce better outcomes (it’s o.k. to raise your hand, to speak first, to be smart). But, if you’re a boy, we’ll just change the entire way we teach to accomodate you.

In reading up on this fight I learned that while Trump values his stake in the Ms. Universe Pagent at 14 million dollars, Forbes Magazine values it at zero. Seems about right.
