I went out with binoculars tonight (first non-cloudy night in a week) but couldn't spot it. I'm just on the edge of a city though, so my skies aren't particularly dark. I'll get the telescope out tomorrow if it's less windy.

Ah, I thought it was the middle bit that looked like an eagle, but I can definitely see it in the bigger blue section, too.

This image looks a little more eagle-like. Remember that when viewed through a small telescope on earth they all look like fuzzy blobs; even the slightest resemblance will lead to a name. Have you seen the Crab Nebula? Hasn't even got pincers!
