On the other hand TES Online has been very profitable for them and there’s been chatter that they are working on a Fallout MMO next. They will certainly go forward with monetization of mods so they don’t get left behind by the rest of the big publishers.

Now playing

Jason, it’s cool that you did research and wrote a book but there’s a reason why they gave you a “magic” number instead of the “notoriously secretive” hard numbers. You are completely failing to point out that big publisher profit margins are expanding... I’m not saying they shouldn’t be trying to make money but

Sometimes it feels like Jim is the only who calls the bullshit out. To add to what he talked about, even if the games were still $60 (which isn’t the case) the fact is that game sales have also been increasing.

Look at TTWO or ATVI stock price chart over the last 5 year you all CAPS waste of time and breath.

except in this case your dealer isn’t even giving you the first taste free

I think you folks in the media need to be more critical of these types of predatory business practices. You understand that it’s controversial but seem to miss the reasoning behind that: It doesn’t matter if the loot boxes are optional, this a full priced game (not to mention special editions, DLC and season passes).

Heroes 3 also deserves a spot on the list.

“underpriced considering inflation and the consistently increasing costs of making high end games”

Et tu, Copyright Infringement?
This smells like a job for Marvel lawyer!

Depends on how you define “made”, because the game is still in early access last I checked. That means that they are still funneling sales money into the game’s development. Basically revenue is not the same as net profit.
For all we know the game can still end up being a commercial failure by the time it is done, if

“we are staying true on our commitment to ensuring that Pokémon GO continues to be a fun and fair experience for all Trainers [except disabled ones]”

Take-Two: How dare you cheat in GTA Online! Unfair advantage is reserved for only those who buy those sweet, sweet Shark Cards. Seriously whatever you do just keep on buying Shark Cards, we’ve probably* made 10x more from milking you suckers than selling copies of GTA V.

* Amount of money too high to be counted

He would much rather make money than lose it. You underestimate the amount of money he could make from having a large twitch audience, be it from donations or ad revenue...

The gift that just keeps giving year after year!

Especially considering the fact that Bioware Austin would be the ones working on the Star Wars related projects. SWTOR was extremely disappointing on many different levels. It was mediocre as an MMO, yet due to its MMO nature it was also mediocre as a single player experience. Not least of all the story itself was

Meanwhile in any and every Korean PC bang...

Judging by the price tag, it can definitely fuck you.
