Bringing a comment back from the dead (not entirely actually). Same guy that told me about the track debris said that another team had a set of tires filled with water and they would swap in the last few laps. No body really noticed until one of the tires got away from them and took someone out in pit lane.

Watching this, I had to remind myself that this was a real place that had real consequences. It's not some apocalypse movie but was someone's home once. Although, I still get the same kind of desolate sad feeling I get when seeing wide angle shots during The Walking Dead.

These look like automotive assembly robots. My old roommate used to work for a company that made assembly robots and he said that their accuracy can be on the order of 0.1 mm. That's insane considering these things have about a 6 foot reach and 6 axis and can hold several hundred pounds depending on the application.
