bUt WhY dOn’T tHeY rAiSe It” damn Durham hadn’t thought of that

obviously it’s been going on for a while. how hard is it to dig a 5 foot hole and sink that road down to create the 16' clearance?

Addressed in the comments of previous crashes.  These only work if it never gets below freezing.

See the problem is that the same people making these same stupid suggestions on how to fix the problem are the same people that would get destroyed by this bridge. We just have to hope that at some point they run into this bridge or one similar and get wrecked so as to knock some intelligence into them.

It does, but the thing is that costs the city money, while the costs of a crash are on the drivers.

Actually… I think I have seen her work before. Once in my life, for a grand total of 30 seconds, while I was editing together a sizzle reel of Ubisoft’s 2016 Just Dance social media marketing campaign so they could submit it to a game marketing awards show. I remember being pretty impressed that anyone could try to

I’ve never been as stressed in my life as I was when I was first starting out as a completely self-managed independent contractor.

Just like Star Wars - there is another. 10foot6

Check the Google Earth Street View of the road for a few blocks on either side leading up to the bridge. You’ll see the city has actually put an excellent effort in to dissuading truck drivers from doing this.

I love 11foot8 as much as every other Red Blooded American but for the love of GOD can y’all please start putting the FAQ for this damn thing front and center with blinking lights so that we all don’t have to replay the exact same conversations re: 11'8" until the end of time?

Why don’t they put something up like this on the approaching roads, so the trucks get a clang

Oh you haven’t heard this from February? She is glorious.

1. Anyone who’s been taught how to drive a large box truck should have been taught about height issues.

I had posted a pic of a bridge in my hometown that didn’t publish. Please disregard my comment. Kinja’d!

Wouldn’t matter, aside from closing it entirely which would likely be a massive hassle.

We have a train bridge like this in my city. It is on a road that has 10 signs before you get on it that say “No Commercial Traffic” and “No Trucks” and “Low Bridge”. Once on the road, there are signs every few hundred feet warning

In this reenactment we have the Fast Food Worker playing the role of the City and the Man Hungry for Ice Cream playing the truck drivers.

Very progressive thinking there

This baby has been opening tin cans since I was a wee lad. There are no triangulated impact guards here, just good old fashioned Bethlehem Steel badassery.
