I was in your shoes at one point. I was enrolled in an honors program in college, working on a thesis but barely scraping by. I felt like my grasp on my surroundings was tenuous at best.

With student loans and how small my program is it will be hard to put anything on hold, although I desperately want to.

I am kinda in the same boat. I’m at college and I feel like shit. I’m on antidepressants, those help but I’ve lost interest in a lot of things.

Something I always say when one of these stories pops up, especially for somebody this young:

CTE.

It’s not her fault and I don’t dislike her for it but I’ve always been angry she got all the shine, as a co-star, from “Bend it like Beckham”. Not her fault, just something that happened that I wasn’t happy about. She got lead movie roles and Parminder Nagra got to be on “ER” for a couple of seasons.

Consistency is the hobgoblin of woke people.

Just once, I’d like to see a movie with a plot about a woman seeking justice for the assault of someone she loves. Don’t even show the rape; have her experiencing a normal, happy day, and then get called down to the hospital because the victim had put her down as their emergency contact, and have her, and the

Just amazing, how guys can have whole arcs of growth without rape, but if you want to grow a woman’s character, guess you better get to raping. Just....ugh.

Keira Knightly helped me realize that there’s nothing wrong with being flat-chested. She was a big style icon for me as a teen, and I admired her for talking openly and with humor about the way they photoshopped her chest on the King Arthur posters.

Nope. Not here. When you make a movie ten years ago, you are never allowed to change your mind. You never grow, you never change your stance. You’re just a blatant hypocrite.

I remembered that too, but I could also see it as not wanting to be placed in that role over and over too. She may have had more variety in the historical pieces.

Could she be talking about a relatively recent stance of hers? Atonement was 5 years into her career. I could see her going through scripts and being like, “Rape. Rape. Nearly raped...nope.” She’s can afford to let roles go now, right? Them Pirates of the Caribbean residuals still flow like honey.

Right. I’m actually perfectly ok with Jessica Jones, because it never showed it and was about the aftermath in a way that didn’t re-victimize her. But generally, don’t love the way it’s dealt with in the vast majority of media.

I’ll walk out of the room if Mr Ginger’s watching a show with a gratuitous rape scene in it - rape is used too often to develop a male character, either as a damaged monster rapist or a raging protective type. The related female characters are one-dimensional background characters who are raped, killed off and

Well I suppose one out of (how ever many she did) ain’t bad.

i.e. “Rape is the New Dead Parents.”

You win. Not sure what the trophy should look like, but it will def have bandaids & Preparation H....

I feel you on this. I have OCD. I’ve lost count of the times people say something like “Oh I’m so OCD!”

The car works, but he said he wanted a Rover and that, sir, is not a Rover...
