I remember playing this before it had a tile set, just ASCII characters. Sad to see it being taken down after all this time, but launching the Kickstarter campaign and drawing all that attention was pretty much asking for it.

I did the same thing when the local Blockbuster phased out VHS anime, and before the DVD boom. Still have them all in a box, waiting for me to catalog and acquire digitally.
Looking back, I recognize that most of that Streamline/Orion stuff was hot garbage, but goddamn do I miss those days.

I’m so split on this thing. On the one hand, I’ve been emulating for 15 years now, so it’s just difficult for me to spend money on games I already have access to. On the other hand, even if I were to never even hook it up, it’s an adorable little piece of nostalgia that would look nice on my desk.
Really wish they hadn’t included the “super inspirational” music. Runs like this I like to be surprised when they finally make it, not be told in advance “Hey, this is the one.”
He was the designer. You have to beat your own creations to prove they’re not impossible before the system lets you upload them.
Looks like the “traditional” one will be an additional expense, a la the pro controller. The console will come with that controller dock shown in the beginning to replicate the feel, most likely.
Dabbled in Paragon a bit a couple weeks and really enjoyed it, but as early as it is in development I’m reluctant to really dive deep. Definitely one I’m going to keep an eye on. Happy to see some coverage of it.

Maybe it’s just me, but that continues to be the only way I can game, save for the floor bit. I’ve tried playing from across the room, sitting on a couch, and even on a decent sized TV I just feel so disconnected from the game.

Isn’t going to happen on the PS4 pro, that much is all but confirmed. Scorpio has much better specs, so it could conceivably pull it off.
