Mine is the low version. As you can see, leaning pillows easily covers it up. The tall version has an extra foot or so above that.

That is the Hometrends Ellington bed set, and I found it at Wal-Mart. Pretty cheap, and not of the highest quality, but I do enjoy the pattern.

...Except they aren't. They sure aren't solid wood, but they're not flimsy, either, at least not the Expedit series.

    Bullshit.

I have several Expedit items, and I bought them because I really liked their simple, clean design, but I didn't want to have to pay hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to get it.

Ditto. I have a bunch of Ikea stuff that has gone from California to Missouri, and then from Missouri to Pennsylvania, and it held up well (Expedit, Malm primarily, but even the cheapo Lack coffee tables made it fine). If people are replacing this stuff after 6 months, they must be ridiculously abusive to it. I've

Flimsy? What the hell are you doing to your shelves? I've got the 2×2s, and I've stood on top of them on multiple occasions with only the slightest of wiggles. Not once have I ever felt they were flimsy, which leads me to believe one of the following must be true:
    1) You're confusing these with a different product line,

Make sure to bring a large vehicle.

What really does it for me about Ikea is how customer-focused the design of their stores is, from the dedicated loading zone right near the doors (with free cord for tying things down), to the flow control (as opposed to the irritating free-for-all of most stores), to the fun little

I've got a pair of 2×2s flanking my bed (Ikea Malm, but a near perfect match), plus another 1×5 in my living room. I really do love them—and the rest of my Ikea furniture—because they have that nice, clean, elegant look, they don't break the bank, but they're also not pieces of garbage like you find at Wal-Mart.

Just the default Confluence with a few backgrounds changed around based on the media type. I usually only get to see this shot briefly on the main menu, but it still makes me happy every time.

I'm glad to see Cosmosition on this list, or else I would have had to post it myself. I use this as one of my backgrounds in XBMC, and I just love it.

I have the original one, and one thing that I like is that you can have individual settings for every program. In Photoshop, for example, I have it set where rotating will zoom in/out, but pushing in and rotating will increase/decrease brush size, and just pushing in briefly will undo the last action. It sounds very

It's not the black bar that people liked. It's all the links on it. It makes absolutely no sense for Google to hide Maps, Translate, etc. under that annoying mini-scrolling-menu. If anything, they should allow per-user customization so that everyone can choose what's important to them. Instead, Google pulled an

Done, see my other reply. I thought that giving an image URL to include a photo would actually link back to the source, but I was wrong.

For some reason, I thought pasting a link to an image would also make that image link back to the original, but I guess not.

Here's a link to the original resolution on Flickr.

Here's a nifty photo I took of a silicon wafer I bought off eBay for use as nerd art:

Yes, we have debt, and yes, it needs to be addressed.

But crashing the entire damned economy and defaulting on all our debts is not the way to address it.

"My side will be perfectly happy to see the entire government collapse."

....And that's why you're a psycho. You don't want to solve any problems, you just want to see everything go to hell.

    1. It made it through legally, despite Republicans' unpopular obstructionism, and it's weathered over FORTY attempts at repeal. What part of that isn't getting through your thick skull? No matter what tricks your party tried to take to prevent it from coming to a vote, it passed.

    2. Already a failure? It only went

I'd argue that your estimates are on the low side. Besides, it's not just direct government employees being affected by this shutdown. For one, there are the obvious players: defense contractors. Lockheed Martin just announced that they'd have to start issuing furloughs and layoffs on Monday if this isn't resolved,
