Yeah no. Gawker did this all to themselves and they alos told Hogan to bad so sad they werent taking it down. And Thiel helping to bank roll the lawsuit is and never was an issue.  They made their bed and now had to lie in it. Actions have consequences.  The legal system is used to deal out said consequences and they

Yeah no. Gawker deserved everything that happened to them. They outed someone when they weren’t ready and I dont blame him for the vendetta.  Sorry but outing someone against their wishes is way worse then someone backing a lawsuit.

Agreed. I’ve been a Jalopnik reader for a decade, and the trash that used to permeate Gawker was disgraceful.

And not the last time either! Totally understand that it was the old guard. I never understood how a “progressive” website and its management could defend such loathsome behavior. They got their comeuppance even if it was a little harsh.

I’m amazed people are still doing this. I still remember when The Screen Savers overclocked a Pentium 4 to I think just over 4Ghz. I think I was in high school at the time taking a computer repair course and was fascinated.

I went to a used car lot in Germany in 2018. I was looking to test drive a car with an automatic. A €1000 car. The salesperson asked me if I knew how to drive an automatic.

Sorry, 66% of Americans know how to drive a Stick? I drive a stick and 66% of the people don’t understand why there isn’t a D on my gearshift. 66% of those that are left don’t understand how you work 3 pedals at once.  I made the mistake of valet parking it once.   It took about an hour for them to find someone to

Once you can fuel hydrogen at every Flying J truck stop, which WILL happen, they really think cars and trucks won’t leverage 2 minute fillups for a few bucks?

This happens rather regularly in the USA. As in daily at collision center. I’m an insurance adjuster, replacing a quarter panel (ITS NOT CALLED A REAR FENDER!!!) along with the lock pillar (C-pillar on sedans) is a fairly straightforward process on many cars and every OEM has a sectioning guideline available to shops

He has a history of parachuting in on stuff like this, siding with dubious folks, and then pushing a simplistic line that’s bad for the people he’s ostensibly trying to help (see his actions in Cambodia, where he got suckered in by a fraud and took criticism for doing a ride-along on a brothel raid that was heavily

Wow, an SNL skit made me chuckle.

I’m Chinese myself, and... yeah, it’s kind of obnoxious, but I’m also kind of numb to China pitching a bitch about everything. This seems like a really petty thing comparatively.

They're accusing Netflix of three things:

Love this corporate dig they went for here, you can really just feel the smug coming off some lawyer writing it:

Just upgraded my i7-3770k, 1080ti rig to a 5900x, 3080 rig. I usually wait around 5-10 years for CPU with one GPU upgrade in the middle somewhere.

Why’s that? AMD offers more “bang for the buck”? I know that argument and sometimes it’s not necessarily the best route for people. Or is it another reason?

They have solid-state capacitors as one and use better quality components all around. There’s a lot of marketing speak around it on their web site, but I’ve had excellent luck with them. The premium isn’t too bad, usually less than $50, but that depends on the individual board.

I respectfully disagree with a couple of choices here. The TV I would place well above the Sony is the LG OLED, either the CX, or if you can find last year’s model, the C9. Both blow the Sony LED picture quality out of the water. (Speaking as a former owner of a Sony X950E which fritzed out on me, I speak from
