Normally I don’t say this but, this was just a really well-written review. Good job, Kirk. I’m still really torn on this game - other reviews coalesce with your critics about the combat, also really disappointing to hear your PC (which sounds eerily similar to mine) had substantial frame drops.

This might explain one of the many reasons why Overwatch feels so good.

Ooo, I wanna try it with Overwatch. Do you need to link the program to Steam to get it to work? That’s what I had to do with Origin games.

Gyro-aiming. It’s rarely mentioned but it is a true game changer. Imagine playing a shooter like Rise of the Tomb Raider with the comfort of a gamepad, with even more (optional, remappable) buttons, and when pressing the left trigger to bring up your firearm it activates the motion controls so you get hyper precision

“The company’s new foundation also ended nearly all of its donations to anti-LGBT organizations in 2012, with $25,390 to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes as the only potential sore point.”

I now eat there once a week without any guilt. It’s great.

Shortly after that whole kerfuffle they stopped donating to those terrible “family” groups that practice gay conversions. I believe it’s been safe to eat there for over 3 years now.

I remember there were several hints that the mother was having a fling with a coworker, or at least that there was an attraction that may or may not be reciprocated. Then they were going to the wedding of that coworker. I still didn’t find it interesting or note-worthy. Now Her Story, there’s a narrative driven game

You want a narrative game that’s actually gripping and interesting? Try Her Story. It’s part of the current Humble Bundle.

If anything, as such a narrative heavy game, I wanted it to be MORE progressive, but it’s a very basic “child is gay and parents aren’t okay with that.” I thought maybe the sister would turn out to be a brother, you know, exploring something that doesn’t get a lot of attention, especially in videogames, but no, it’s

I shouldn’t have used to the word “twist”. It’s just that there’s barely any plot at all and it’s pretty anti-climatic. Here’s the plot: your sister is gay, your parents aren’t okay with that, your sister left with her girlfriend that was about to leave for the army. That’s really it, oh and the mom may have a thing

Yeah don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t terrible, we saw it through to the end so it must’ve been doing something right, it was just so underwhelming when looked at as a whole. My brother is a game developer and I told him, “you wanna get tons of easy, free press? Make your main character somewhere on the gender spectrum

The main character doesn’t even have a cool name like Cypher Rage, 2/10.

I guess I should say it’s very anti-climatic. We expected to be moved at least somewhat after all the praise it got, but yeah, it was pretty underwhelming.

Spoilers: there’s no spoilers in Gone Home. You can figure it out very early what’s going on. No twists. My girlfriend and I were like, “...that’s it? Yeah, we know... That’s it?!”

You two have actual names? I mean, those weren’t your real names all along?

I’m just waiting for that VR support announcement...

And you can only level up? I always prefer the W/L skill level because time-played doesn’t always equal skill.

To clarify, you mean it’s tougher as you level up because the opponents you face will be more experienced? I’m new to Overwatch and your abilities and whatnot don’t improve as you level, right?

Someone hasn’t played Overwatch. That’s pretty much everyone’s opinion until they play it.

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for Scrap and Souls over dead enemies if you’re playing as Torbjorn or Reaper, respectively. Other players had to inform me of that - it only shows up if you’re playing as those characters and their official videos don’t explain it either. Souls replenish health, Scrap allows you to
