appropo - Kanye West looks like a level 1 RPG character

At this point, dying with nobility is not an option. Have you seen what The Simpsons has become? It’s just really sloppy pop-culture references. Frankly, I gave up in 2003 and that was four years too late (I own seasons 2 through 10 and, while of course there are exceptions, the humor really tappered off after 8), but

Beat me to it.

“Plus they can replace them and no one can tell the diddly-difference”

You shouldn’t go even if it was available in your area. Two years ago, a friend and I went to the local Best Buy on Wednesday to play SM3DW and Tropical Freeze and whatever else they had and there was a sign up sheet so long that we wouldn’t have been able to play until Saturday. For real. Not to mention it smelled

I guess you could say...

He’s getting his body ready.

So, I grew up without an allowance, so I had virtually no disposable money as a child. My brothers and friends had recently become enamored with SNES JRPGs by the time Earthbound came out, and a friend of mine said he rented it from the local video store and liked what he played. Even though I was still very

Oh yeah, been there (sorta). We borrowed a friend’s copy of Secret of Mana on SNES but the cart couldn’t save anymore so we left our SNES on for almost a month! The thing still works.

Hmmm, walked several miles from my campus to the local game store in the rain at night to get my just-a-few-days-after-launch Xbox 360. I didn’t know it was about to rain (didn’t have time to check the weather, it was a someone-cancelled-their-order-you’re-next-in-line emergency) so I didn’t bring an umbrella or

Maybe I should just list my PS4 for a high price and make the description, “doesn’t include game shown in picture”

My joke this whole time is that Silent Hills is now officially and forever the scariest game ever, because it actually destroyed our hope.

Makes total sense, actually. They’re doing this to save money, recognizing they have too many employees.

It certainly worked for me. I jumped on the Splatoon Amiibo preorder when Kinja Deals said they were available at Wal-Mart. Not because I should, but because I COULD.

To be fair, I’m super excited for Splatoon and this will be my first (and hopefully last) Amiibo purchase - I want one just so see what the experience of

And before you say, “yeah, well, the Amiibo unlock things in multiple games” it doesn’t excuse hiding on-disc content, and it is rarely substantial stuff in games not associated with the character.

Great article, Stephen. When you think about it, Amiibo are a double standard in the industry. Sure, there are collectors out there that just like them as figurines but the hard truth is that Nintendo is doing what we’ve been lamenting/boycotting other publishers for doing - hiding content behind additional purchases.

Hmm, so that’s what a bubble popping sounds like. Remember to look shocked when similar headlines for King and Rovio appear a few years from now.

Yeah, I’ve heard that but what really matters to me is which has the better support, and that’s hard to tell without looking a few years into the future.

I agree but the irrational part of me just wants to be the early adopter amongst all my friends so I can show off this ground-breaking tech.

That’s the big question now - become the earlier adopter and get a Vive (assuming it doesn’t get delayed) or wait for the Rift?

Crescent Bay was already higher resolution than DK2, but they wouldn’t say the exact resolution.
