A humongous soundtrack, good enough to make a faceless robo-man seem grand and fatherly.

A collection of lovely surprises and revelations, much like the game it accompanies.

Wow, a participant in the NWC! I have just one question: just how 80s was your hair at that time?
I do have memories of my older brother being excited for The Wizard just to see SMB3.

While I appreciate dynamic music like that, I despised the soundtrack. More grating than the humor. It was so annoying that it significantly detracted from my experience and I'd rather play it muted.
It's pretty easy to tell what style level you're at by glancing at the lightning icon and there's a really loud

Yeah, most of the missions are really fun and varied. I was relieved to learn that you could replay missions, I just wish you could figure out what the mission entailed by the name or at least tag favorites because I can never seem to find the one I want in that list.

Stick with it. I suggest turning off the music, and plugging in a USB stick with your own tunes. Once you get used to the mechanics, it becomes gaming nirvana.

If you're on the ground, press X, A, RB. Boom, you're moving at high speeds towards something you can use to move about faster/higher.

It's my GOTY. Yes, the "humor" and tone is mostly awful, but the core gameplay is just too perfect. The mechanics make it fun to simply meander about the city, but you're still making progress since there are usually collectibles about and getting kills on random enemies still levels up your weapons.
Have you tried

Ah so Citan doesn't have to sheath and unsheath his sword with each attack input. That's nice.

"fast-paced combat"
Wait, so is it turn-based or action RPG?

And now you know a fraction of what we Earthbound fans felt when it was FINALLY announced for a re-release on Virtual Console.

*in sultry voice* Well Fahey, there's only one of me...

still my favorite joke from the entire H*R catalog. It is perfect.

Jesus Christ, I cannot stand this fucking format of theirs. Is every A Brief History of as stupidly fast paced and edited so no one has to breathe? I got used to Yahtzee but I could never get used to this. I honestly couldn't listen to any more after a minute.

Edit: ahhhh, forgot about half-speed on youtube.

I think it's pathetic how broken it is even after they neutered the playlist selection, which would understandably be a major issue to overcome (four games in one package with playlists for each game AND cross-game playlists) but as of now, even if you can get into a functioning round, your choices are very narrow for

Oh yeah, EB is my favorite game ever, of course I'd love for this to be real, but it's just not.

I don't know who this person thinks they're fooling but that is one of the most obviously fake listings I've ever seen. You can always tell by how fan-pleasing the wording is, like pretty much every E3 lineup "leak". I would bet my only truly treasured possession, my earthbound player's guide, on this being fake,

Remastered in what way? Makes no sense to "remaster" 8-bit and 16-bit games. A translated trilogy on 3DS would be greatly appreciated.

Great article. Here's a simple tip that'll help you appreciate sound in game: put on some headphones. Quality surround sound ones would be ideal (I rock the Sennheiser PC360s) but even basic earbuds will probably do a better job than your TV speakers at relaying all the detailed sound to you, and you'll probably be

Cool. I plan to upgrade to 4K a year from now once I finally get a gaming PC for VR / 4K
