In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Yeah but...isn’t this literally all about Parkey and how he missed the kick?

Except he blamed himself for the kick, he thanked his teammates for embracing him afterwards, he talked about how class the Chicago organization was....only for his coach to call him out. Sounds like Nagy is the tone deaf one. I mean, what possible problem could Nagy have had with what Parkey said?

Perhaps all the Bears fans telling Parkey that he was singlehandedly responsible for the loss (and should die) suggested to Parkey that it was, in fact, about him

If he gets cut, Green Bay should invite him to training camp for the laughs.

Parkey didn’t have anything to lose here.  Safe money is on the Bears releasing him.  He’s good enough to get a few more journeyman gigs: may as well keep himself on the radar.

Football coaches are terrible people.

Eh. He talked about what happened. It wasn’t like he went on there and trash talked anyone.

It does come off a little Nagy when you go after an adult for doing his thing away from the team.

You really have to think about your #1 priorities when you want to make it a we thing.

Matt Nagy seems like a dick.

Look, I could write up a long post describing how utterly clueless you are about baseball’s history (the primary example being not knowing that the collusion referenced occurred between 1985-87, with the concluding court settlement in 1990) but I doubt you would bother reading it. Besides, entire books have been

You haven’t given a reason why we should ignore actual economics here.

So what?

Because it’s lot of different people involved since the time of proven collusion?

Well yeah. But “fuck these rich fucks” strictly for being bad people, which they almost invariably are. The owner landscape is fertile with stories and allegations of social and moral villainy. By all means, Deadspin, continue reporting away on that stuff. I rather enjoy it.

But it is if there is a unilateral agreement among the teams to do so.

This approach to what’s going on with free agent salaries is SO much more interesting, impartial, reasoned, and evidence-based than Deadspin’s usual “fuck these rich fucks” dreck.

The same folks that are arguing that owners should open the spigots and pay top dollar for each player will turn around and mock all the teams that get stuck with the Albert Pujols of the world.  If every team was bidding on Machado and Harper like these folks want then in 2035 they will be laughing at the $55M/year

Sites like Deadspin have completely attempted to change what “collusion” is based on... clicks?
